A slow Matcha-tery ritual

MY STORY

I no longer wanted to live on autopilot.

Matcha-tery was born from a very simple need: to learn how to slow down. Before creating this brand, I was moving through life at full speed. I worked in marketing in the tech world, with long days, constant anxiety and the feeling that my mind was always already on the next thing.

For a long time, I normalised that pace. I thought being busy meant doing well. That more was always better. From the outside, everything probably looked as if it worked. I had a job, projects and goals. Inside, I felt increasingly disconnected from myself.

I lived with the constant sense that it was never enough. There was always more to do, more to achieve, more to prove. Until one day I understood that a full life is not always a present one. And that was where everything began.

It all began with a pause.

I remember the moment clearly: "I do not want to live like this for the rest of my life." It was not a great crisis or a radical decision. It was much quieter than that.

I began making small changes. Walking more slowly. Reading without checking my phone. Cooking with care. Drinking coffee without rushing. And within those small moments, matcha appeared.

Not as a miracle drink and not as a trend. It arrived as a ritual: a moment in the day that asked me to stop for a few minutes, prepare something with attention and return to the present. Over time, I realised I was not really seeking more productivity, more energy or more output. I was seeking presence. That search became Matcha-tery.

A quiet moment with matcha

Matcha-tery was born as a pause.

And in time, it became a way back to myself.

An invitation to live with more calm, more presence and more intention.

If you have found your way here, I hope this ritual finds a place in your day too.

Welcome to your ritual.

With care,
Sandra Balcells
